San Cristobal was brought back after 2 years of planning and test blending, and now it is skillfully handmade by Jose 'Don Pepin' Garcia in his Nicaraguan factory. San Cristobal is a luxurious cigar built for the most demanding connoisseurs, it starts with a rich mixture of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan long-fillers which are carefully balanced and patiently aged, then, using a Nicaraguan leaf as the binder, this hearty blend is concealed and wrapped around a dark and oily Nicaraguan Corojo Wrapper, ultimately finished with a classic Cuban style triple cap. The result is a perfect balance between strength and complexity, with hearty notes of earth, cedar and spices are accompanied by lighter notes of walnuts, espresso, black cherries and dark chocolate. Constructed impeccably, designed for perfection, a cigar one must truly take the time to savor.

I am sorry to report that I was very disappointed with these cigars. Many reviewers praised them, so I took a chance on them. My favorite small, inexpensive flavored cigar was the Pirata Pesquenos, which unfortunately are no longer manufactured, so far as anyone can determine. These cigars have very little of the cherry or amaretto flavor. The quality is poor, but that was to be expected when ordered. Since the Piratas mentioned above are no longer available, my suggestion is that, since one gets what one pays for, a smoker who enjoys flavored cigars should opt for Acid Blondie or Drew Estate Java, expensive but worth it.
